The Robertson Arms Hotel is fortunate to be located in the centre of some of Scotland’s premier fisheries. Carnwath is situated in South Lanarkshire and is virtually on the banks of the river Clyde and within 30 minutes of the rivers Tweed And Nith system. The hotel serves as a perfect base to access some of the best river and still water fishing in Scotland.
The river Clyde can offer potentially record breaking game and coarse fishing. the river is set amongst some of the most beautiful and peaceful countryside in Britain. The river Clyde, due to the waters cleanliness, has undergone a major regeneration of Salmon and Sea Trout and its not unknown for 30lb plus fish being recorded. the species range from Pike, Grayling, Brown Trout, Salmon, Sea Trout and anything else in between!.
Access to fishing permits from U.C.A.P.A and local knowledge can be provided day tickets are available for both migratory and freshwater fish.
Here at the Robertson’s we can assure you of a comfortable stay. After a day’s great fishing enjoy a meal in our Bistro where a wood burning stove is lit on chilly evenings. Should you require clothing dried we have a hot cupboard where it can be dried overnight. A fine selection of malts are available, so sit back relax and ponder over the one that got away!
